Tongda Motors exports the Hyundai Sonata built in China by Beijing Hyundai, new, zero-mileage and used, to dealers, fleets and importers outside China. The 2026 range has four versions: a 1.5-litre turbo (170 PS) or a 2.0-litre turbo N Line (250 PS), both with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Every unit is inspected against its VIN, with photos, before you pay. The export price is quoted per version, volume and destination.

THE MODEL
The mid-size Sonata, built in Beijing.
In China the Sonata is sold as the 索纳塔 and built by Beijing Hyundai, the 50:50 joint venture of BAIC Motor and Hyundai Motor Company. The car on sale is the facelifted eighth-generation Sonata (DN8), which Beijing Hyundai markets as the eleventh-generation Sonata (第十一代索纳塔) and launched in March 2024. Hyundai itself has imported the China-built Sonata into Korea as a taxi since April 2024.
The 2026 model year went on sale on 14 June 2026 with four versions, down from six. The car is 4,945 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,445 mm tall on a 2,875 mm wheelbase, with dual 12.3-inch curved screens and Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance on every version. The 2.0T N Line adds its own grille, suede sports seats, a rear wing, red brake calipers and a quad exhaust.

How the China Sonata differs.
China engines: 1.5T and 2.0T
The China Sonata has a 1.5-litre turbo (125 kW / 170 PS, 253 N·m) or a 2.0-litre turbo (184 kW / 250 PS, 353 N·m), both with an eight-speed automatic. Sonatas sold elsewhere use other engines, such as a 2.0 petrol, 2.0 hybrid or 1.6 turbo in Korea and a 2.5 or 2.5 turbo in North America, so check parts and service support for the exact engine in your market.
Four versions, two styles
The 1.5T versions have the standard Sonata styling and the 2.0T versions the sportier N Line look. Combined MIIT fuel consumption is 6.25 L/100 km for the 1.5T and 6.90 L/100 km for the 2.0T.
China-market software
The dual 12.3-inch screens run Hyundai's China-market software, with Chinese navigation and connected services. Menu languages and which functions work outside China are confirmed per VIN on the quotation.
Left-hand drive and China 6
Like every China-market car, the Sonata is left-hand drive and certified to the China 6 emission standard. An approval for the Sonata sold in your market does not automatically cover the China version, so confirm homologation for the exact version before you order.

Chile

Peru drives on the right, so the left-hand-drive China Sonata needs no conversion. A mid-size sedan with an automatic suits executive and ride-hailing fleets. UAE and Saudi Arabia
The China Sonata is a China-specification car, not Gulf-spec, so check cooling and climate equipment per VIN. Saudi Arabia requires conformity certificates through SABER, which must be confirmed for the China version; the UAE free zone also suits re-export. See UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria

Is the China-built Sonata the same car as the Sonata sold elsewhere?
It is the same facelifted eighth-generation Sonata (DN8), which Beijing Hyundai calls the eleventh generation. The body and design match, but the engines differ: China has a 1.5T and a 2.0T with an eight-speed automatic, while Korea and North America use 2.0, 2.5, 1.6T, 2.5T and hybrid engines. Engine parts therefore differ from locally sold Sonatas, so plan servicing before you order.
What is the difference between the 1.5T and the 2.0T N Line?
The 1.5T has 170 PS and 253 N·m with standard Sonata styling; the 2.0T N Line has 250 PS and 353 N·m with N Line styling, suede sports seats, red calipers and a quad exhaust. Both have the eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Air and Pro are equipment levels within each engine.
Can I order zero-mileage or used Sonatas?
Yes. Tongda Motors is approved by the Chinese authorities to export used vehicles, and every unit is photographed and inspected against its VIN before you pay. Sonatas built before the March 2024 facelift may have the 1.5T with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, so we state version, gearbox and mileage per VIN.
