Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ and ID.4 X: the ID.4 built in China
In China the Volkswagen ID.4 is built by both joint ventures: FAW-Volkswagen sells it as the ID.4 CROZZ and SAIC Volkswagen as the ID.4 X. Both are rear-wheel-drive electric SUVs on the MEB platform, with a standard and a long-range battery. Tongda Motors exports new, zero-mileage and used units to dealers, fleets and importers, each inspected against its VIN before you pay, with a battery state-of-health report.

THE MODEL
One ID.4, two joint ventures.
The ID.4 CROZZ and the ID.4 X are China's versions of the Volkswagen ID.4, the compact electric SUV on the MEB platform. FAW-Volkswagen builds the ID.4 CROZZ in Foshan, Guangdong, and SAIC Volkswagen builds the ID.4 X in Anting, Shanghai. The two share the 2,765 mm wheelbase and 1,852 mm width; the ID.4 X is 4,612 mm long, about 20 mm longer than the 4,592 mm CROZZ, mainly because of a different bumper.
Both are on sale in 2026. FAW-VW launched the 2026 ID.4 CROZZ in August 2025 in three versions, with a 125 kW motor and 448 km CLTC range or a 170 kW motor and 601 km. SAIC VW sells the ID.4 X in its "Smart edition" (聪明款) line-up, introduced in July 2024, in four versions: 125 kW with 425 km or 170 kW with 601 km. Every current version is rear-wheel drive; the dual-motor AWD versions of earlier years are no longer in either price list. Both have a 12.9-inch centre screen.

Trim names are translated from Chinese: Dark Knight PRO is 暗黑骑士PRO版; the ID.4 X versions are 纯净智享版, 出众版, 纯净长续航版 and 极智长续航版. Range is CLTC, which reads higher than WLTP. The export price is quoted per version, volume and destination. See also electric cars from China.

How the China ID.4 differs.
Two names, two factories
In China the car is sold as the ID.4 CROZZ by FAW-VW and the ID.4 X by SAIC VW. They differ in styling, bumpers, trim names and battery figures (54.3 or 80.4 kWh for the CROZZ, 52.8 or 80.2 kWh for the X), so we state the exact model and version per VIN.
GB/T charging
China-market ID.4s have GB/T charging inlets for AC and DC, not the CCS2 inlet of European ID.4s. In a CCS2 market your buyers need GB/T charging equipment or adapters; confirm what local chargers support before you order.
Rear-wheel drive only
The current China line-up is single-motor and rear-wheel drive, with 125 kW or 170 kW. The dual-motor AWD versions sold in China until 2024, and the GTX sold elsewhere, are available only as used cars.
China-market software
The 12.9-inch screen runs Volkswagen's China-market software, with Chinese navigation and connected services. We confirm the menu language and which connected functions work outside China on the quotation.

Chile
Chile broadly bars used passenger-car imports into the mainland, so for Chilean registration we quote new units; your customs broker confirms how a zero-mileage unit registered in China is treated. Peru
Peru drives on the right, so the left-hand-drive China ID.4 needs no conversion. Used imports are limited by age and emissions, so new and zero-mileage units clear most cleanly. UAE and Saudi Arabia
The China ID.4 is a China-specification car, not Gulf-spec, so check battery cooling and climate equipment per VIN. Saudi Arabia requires conformity certificates through SABER, which must be confirmed for the China version; the UAE free zone also suits re-export. See UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria
Duties and levies are a large part of landed cost in Nigeria, so we quote CIF Lagos and you work out the duty with your clearing agent first.
