THE BRAND
Two partners, two model ranges.
Volkswagen has two partners in China. FAW-Volkswagen, headquartered in Changchun, builds the Sagitar, Magotan, Tayron and ID.4 CROZZ; SAIC Volkswagen, in Shanghai, builds the Lavida, Passat, Tiguan L, Teramont and ID.4 X. The ranges overlap, so a car of the same class can come from either partner under a different name.
Names cause most of the confusion. The Sagitar is China's Jetta, the Teramont is the SUV sold as the Atlas in North America, and the ID.4 CROZZ and ID.4 X are both China-built versions of the ID.4. Some familiar names hide a different car: in China the Passat is a sedan, while in Europe it is now sold only as an estate. We quote by China-market name and VIN, with the nearest export equivalent on every line.

Which partner built it
FAW-VW and SAIC VW models differ in names, trims and equipment even within the same class. The quotation states which joint venture built each unit, so your workshop knows which parts and diagnostics it will need.
China-market specification
China-market Volkswagens are left-hand drive and meet China 6 emissions, broadly aligned with Euro 6. Software language and equipment are confirmed per model on the quotation, and homologation in your market must be checked model by model.
ID. electric models
China-market ID. models are built for China's GB/T charging network; we confirm the charging standard on the quotation. Each unit ships with a battery state-of-health reading plus the UN38.3 test summary and MSDS. See electric cars from China.
Zero-mileage and used
We also supply zero-mileage and low-mileage used Volkswagens, inspected per VIN with photos before you pay. Tongda is approved by the Chinese authorities to export used vehicles. See used cars from China.

Yes, as a dealer or fleet buyer ordering 10 units or more. Tongda Motors sources new, zero-mileage and used Volkswagens built by FAW-VW and SAIC VW and exports them with the full document pack. We are an independent exporter, not affiliated with Volkswagen or either joint venture, so check how your market treats parallel imports before ordering.
Does a China-built Volkswagen keep its factory warranty abroad?
Do not assume it does. Factory warranty coverage outside China is not guaranteed for China-market cars, so confirm how it applies in your market before ordering. What we provide is a per-VIN inspection report with photos before payment, plus the full export document pack.
Which Volkswagen models suit importers best?
