Most are long-wheelbase versions made for China, from the 3 Series Li to the X5 Li. BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA) is BMW's joint venture with Brilliance Auto, in which BMW has held a 75% majority since 2022. Its plants in Shenyang, in north-east China, build the 2 Series Gran Coupé, 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3 and X5 for the Chinese market, and now also the iX3 from the Neue Klasse, BMW's new generation of electric cars.
Most China-built BMWs are long-wheelbase versions you will not find in Europe. The extra length goes to rear legroom, and the model designations usually carry an L or Li, as in 325Li or X5 xDrive30Li. Dimensions, equipment and software differ from export-spec cars, so homologation must be checked per model, and we confirm options per VIN on the quotation.

Before you order BMW.
Long-wheelbase means a different car
A 5 Series Li is not just a 5 Series with a new badge: body length, rear cabin, equipment and software differ from the European car. Check homologation for the exact China-market version, and confirm parts supply with your workshop before ordering.
Inspected and specified per VIN
Each BMW is photographed and inspected against its VIN before you pay, with the odometer reading and condition notes. Options are listed per VIN because China-market packages differ from yours, and the software language is confirmed on the quotation.
Earlier electric BMWs
The earlier China-built i3, i5 and iX1 are leaving BMW Brilliance's line-up as the Neue Klasse arrives. Remaining units are quoted as zero-mileage or used stock when available, each with a battery state-of-health reading plus the UN38.3 test summary and MSDS. See electric cars from China.
Warranty is not automatic
Factory warranty coverage outside China is not guaranteed for China-market BMWs. Confirm how your market treats it before ordering, and plan servicing with that in mind.

Can I buy BMW cars directly from China?
Yes, as a dealer or fleet buyer ordering 10 units or more. Tongda Motors sources new, zero-mileage and used China-built BMWs and ships them FOB, CIF or DAP from Nansha, Shekou or Guangzhou. We are an independent exporter, not affiliated with BMW or BMW Brilliance, so check how your market treats parallel imports before ordering.
What does Li mean on a China-built BMW?
It marks the long-wheelbase version built for China, such as the 3 Series Li, 5 Series Li or X5 Li, with the extra wheelbase given to rear legroom. These are China-market, left-hand-drive cars, so check that the exact version can be homologated in your market before ordering.
Do you supply used BMWs from China?
Yes. Tongda is approved by the Chinese authorities to export used vehicles, and we supply zero-mileage and low-mileage used BMWs alongside new ones.
