Toyota Corolla and Levin: the Corolla sedan built in China
In China the Toyota Corolla sedan is built by two joint ventures: FAW Toyota sells it as the Corolla and GAC Toyota as the Levin, now badged Levin L. Both offer a 1.2-litre turbo, a 2.0-litre petrol and Toyota's 1.8-litre self-charging hybrid, all with front-wheel drive. Tongda Motors exports new, zero-mileage and used units to dealers and fleets, each inspected against its VIN before you pay, from 10 units per order.

THE MODEL
One Corolla, two joint ventures.
The Corolla 卡罗拉 and the Levin 雷凌 are the twelfth-generation (E210) Toyota Corolla sedan, on sale in China since August 2019. FAW Toyota builds the Corolla in Tianjin with Toyota's "Prestige" styling, and GAC Toyota builds the Levin in Guangzhou with the "Sporty" styling. In December 2025 GAC Toyota renamed its long-wheelbase Levin GT as the Levin L, and every Levin on its current price list is a Levin L.
A mid-cycle update on 21 December 2025 dropped the 1.5-litre three-cylinder and added a 2.0-litre petrol engine (126 kW, 205 Nm) alongside the 1.2-litre turbo and the fifth-generation 1.8-litre hybrid. The Corolla 1.8 hybrid and 2.0 moved to a 2,750 mm wheelbase and are 4,710 mm long, while the Corolla 1.2T keeps the 2,700 mm wheelbase and 4,635 mm length; the Levin L is 4,695 mm long. Both twins have a 12.9-inch centre screen, an 8.8-inch digital cluster and Toyota Pilot (TSS 3.0) driver assistance as standard.

Trim names are translated from Chinese. Hybrid power is the combined system output (101 kW). The 1.2T and 2.0 use a CVT with ten simulated steps, the hybrids Toyota's e-CVT. The export price is quoted per version, volume and destination.

How the China Corolla differs.
Two names and a longer body
In China the car is sold as the Corolla by FAW Toyota and the Levin L by GAC Toyota. The Levin L and the Corolla hybrid and 2.0 have a 2,750 mm wheelbase, 50 mm more than the standard Corolla sedan sold in most other markets, so their dimensions differ from the Corolla your customers may know.
China engine line-up
The China range is a 1.2-litre turbo, a 2.0-litre petrol and the 1.8-litre hybrid; the 1.5-litre three-cylinder was dropped in December 2025. Corollas sold elsewhere use other engines too, such as 1.6 and 1.8-litre non-hybrid petrol or a 2.0-litre hybrid in Europe, so check parts and service support for the exact engine in your market.
China-market screen and software
The 12.9-inch screen runs China-market software on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P chip, with Huawei HiCar, CarLink and Apple CarPlay. We confirm the software language and which connected functions work outside China on the quotation.
Left-hand drive and China 6
Every China-market Corolla and Levin is left-hand drive and certified to the China 6 emission standard. An approval for the Corolla sold in your market does not automatically cover the China version, so confirm homologation for the exact version before you order.

Chile
Chile broadly bars used passenger-car imports into the mainland, so for Chilean registration we quote new units; your customs broker confirms how a zero-mileage unit registered in China is treated. Peru
Peru drives on the right, so the left-hand-drive China Corolla needs no conversion. Taxi and delivery fleets there are moving to hybrids for running costs, which suits the 1.8 hybrid. UAE and Saudi Arabia
The China Corolla and Levin are China-specification cars, not Gulf-spec, so check cooling and climate equipment per VIN. Saudi Arabia requires conformity certificates through SABER, which must be confirmed for the China version; the UAE free zone also suits re-export. See UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria
Duties and levies are a large part of landed cost in Nigeria, so we quote CIF Lagos and you work out the duty with your clearing agent first. The 1.2T and 2.0 petrol versions have no high-voltage battery; hybrids ship with a battery state-of-health reading. Used units must meet the current age limit. See import cars to Nigeria.
