Toyota RAV4 and Wildlander: the new RAV4 built in China
In China the sixth-generation Toyota RAV4 is sold under two names: FAW Toyota builds the RAV4 and GAC Toyota builds the Wildlander, with the same three powertrains. Unlike the RAV4 sold in other markets, which comes only as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, both are also offered with a non-hybrid 2.0-litre petrol engine. Tongda Motors exports new, zero-mileage and used units to dealers and fleets, each inspected against its VIN before you pay, from 10 units per order.

THE MODEL
One RAV4, two joint ventures.
The RAV4 荣放 (Rongfang) and the Wildlander 威兰达 are the same sixth-generation Toyota RAV4, built on an updated TNGA-K platform by Toyota's two Chinese joint ventures. FAW Toyota builds the RAV4 in Changchun, Jilin province, and GAC Toyota builds the Wildlander in Guangzhou. GAC Toyota launched the new Wildlander on 20 November 2025 and FAW Toyota the new RAV4 the next day, at the Guangzhou auto show; RAV4 deliveries began on 9 January 2026.
The twins differ in styling, trims and dealer network, not in engineering. The RAV4 is 4,620 mm long, with a tougher front end borrowed from the Woodland and Adventure trims sold abroad; the Wildlander is 4,600 mm long and closer to the international RAV4's look. Both are 1,855 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall on a 2,690 mm wheelbase, and both have a 15.6-inch centre screen. In September 2026 FAW Toyota added the Tanye (探野) edition, a better-equipped 2.0-litre hybrid.

Trim names are translated from Chinese. Hybrid power is the combined system output (144 kW or 174 kW); the petrol engine gives 126 kW through a CVT with ten simulated steps. The export price is quoted per version, volume and destination.

How the China RAV4 differs.
A non-hybrid petrol version
Outside China the sixth-generation RAV4 is sold only as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. In China both twins also come with a 2.0-litre petrol engine without hybrid assistance (126 kW, 171 hp), with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. No other market gets this version of the new RAV4, so check homologation for it specifically.
Different hybrid line-up
China adds a 2.0-litre hybrid (144 kW, 196 hp, front-wheel drive) below the 2.5-litre hybrid, which comes only with E-Four electric all-wheel drive (174 kW, 237 hp). Neither the plug-in hybrid sold in Japan, Europe and North America nor the GR Sport was on sale in China as of October 2026.
China-market screen and software
Export RAV4s use a 10.5 or 12.9-inch screen running Toyota's Arene software. The China cars have a 15.6-inch centre screen with China-specific software, which the RAV4 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P chip. We confirm the software language and which connected functions work outside China on the quotation.
Left-hand drive and China 6
Every China-market RAV4 and Wildlander is left-hand drive and certified to the China 6 emission standard. An approval for the RAV4 sold in your market does not automatically cover the China version, so confirm homologation for the exact version before you order.

Chile
Chile broadly bars used passenger-car imports into the mainland, so for Chilean registration we quote new units; your customs broker confirms how a zero-mileage unit registered in China is treated. Homologation of the China version, especially the non-hybrid petrol, and its FTA origin treatment are confirmed before you order. See import cars to Chile.
Peru
Peru drives on the right, so the left-hand-drive China RAV4 needs no conversion, and it limits used imports by age and emissions, so new and zero-mileage units clear most cleanly. Fleets can choose between the 2.0 petrol and the hybrids. Confirm the FTA duty rate and homologation with your customs broker. See import cars to Peru.
UAE and Saudi Arabia
The China RAV4 and Wildlander are China-specification SUVs, not Gulf-spec, so check cooling and climate equipment per VIN. Saudi Arabia requires conformity certificates through SABER, which must be confirmed for the China version; the UAE free zone also suits re-export. See UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Nigeria
Duties and levies are a large part of landed cost in Nigeria, so we quote CIF Lagos and you work out the duty with your clearing agent first. The 2.0 petrol has no high-voltage battery to service; hybrids ship with a battery state-of-health reading. Used units must meet the current age limit. See import cars to Nigeria.
