THE MAKER
The biggest truck maker in China's home market.
Jiefang is the truck business of China FAW Group. FAW Jiefang Group is listed in Shenzhen (000800), and its operating company builds trucks at five vehicle plants, in Changchun, Qingdao, Guanghan, Liuzhou and Foshan, with powertrain plants in Changchun, Wuxi and Dalian. In 2025 it sold more than 280,000 vehicles and held 22.6% of China's medium and heavy truck market, the largest share.
Exports topped 60,000 vehicles in 2025, and Jiefang reports export sales up 67.9% in January–May 2026, with Latin America more than doubling. It works with dealers and partners in Peru, Chile, Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia; in Peru the brand is represented by San Bartolomé. Xinhua reported in October 2025 that Saudi Arabia was one of nine markets behind a 58.3% rise in Jiefang's international medium and heavy truck sales.

Jiefang has started to show export trucks under new names: at the April 2026 Canton Fair the J7 LNG tractor was labelled CORTRON CH, the J6P electric tractor CORTRON CP and the JH6 dump truck DORTRON DP. Jiefang's own driveline
Heavy Jiefangs use FAW's own CA6DM diesel engines (the CA6DM3 is the 13-litre version) and CA12TAX gearboxes, with ZF 16-speed gearboxes on some versions. Lighter models use the smaller CA6DL and CA6DK engines.
Dump trucks

Emission level
We confirm the engine model and its emission level for every truck on the quotation. Jiefangs built for China since July 2021 meet China VI, largely equivalent to Euro VI, and are designed for 10 ppm-sulphur diesel. If diesel in your market is higher in sulphur, ask us to compare a used China VI truck with a new export build.
Local support in Peru
Jiefangs are left-hand drive as built. In Peru, FAW trucks are sold through San Bartolomé, which announced a new Lima dealership in 2025; check parts and service with them before a fleet order. See exporting to Peru.

Mainly the J7 flagship tractor, the J6P and JH6 tractors and dump trucks, and the lighter J6L. We can source any Jiefang model sold in China, new or used, and inspect it against the VIN before you pay.
What engine does a FAW Jiefang truck use?
Most heavy Jiefangs use FAW's own CA6DM engines, such as the 13-litre CA6DM3, with FAW CA12TAX or ZF gearboxes. Each quotation states the exact engine model, power and emission level.
How much does a FAW Jiefang truck cost?
